Thursday 4 25 24 morning call

No photos from yesterday. This is the start of my downinder last Tuesday. After that, I decided to take a break to hopefully heal a painful episode of sciatica. Photo by Sofie Louca.

As anticipated, the small NW swell in the water is having very little effect locally. The easterly windswell went up to a dreamy (from the downwinders point of view) 8ft 8s, but it's now coming from 80 degrees and as such won't completely hit our north shore. Home guess for Hookipa is around waist to head high and stormy. Bigger on eastern exposures.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

New small 17s southerly energy at the buoys. Below is the map of April 18 that show the fetch that generated it.

The buoys show the start of a new small WNW swell. Below are the maps of April 19 through 21 that show the fetch that generated it. I wouldn't expect much from it on our north shore and the ENE windswell will be the dominant energy in the water. Home guess for Hookipa is around head to occasionally head and a half. Similar or bigger on eastern exposures.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

Northerly energy at Pauwela down to 3ft 11s is going to keep declining while a more closely generated shorter period NE windswell registers 5.7ft 8s. Home guess for Hookipa is around head to head and a half.

The 13s NW-NNW energy at the local buoys is bigger than the N energy at the other buoys (I discussed both yesterday). Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half to double, bigger mid day with the help of the windswell.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
